Candidate for the Charter Review Commission
With a background in software engineering and years of civic engagement, I bring a data-driven, solutions-focused approach to public service. Our county charter is the foundation of how we govern ourselves and it deserves careful, thoughtful review in keeping it strong, fair, and accountable. I believe changes to our charter should empower the citizens of our county which is why I’m committed to maintaining transparency throughout the review process.
Over the past four years, I’ve spent a great deal of time learning about ways we might improve the county charter. I’ve also had the opportunity to speak with former county councilors and staff to better understand what changes they believe could make a difference. My background in graduate research has helped me approach this work with careful attention to detail, and I’m committed to ensuring that any amendments we consider are thoughtful, practical, and built to last.
Together, we can build a stronger county government that serves all residents through thoughtful, effective policies.
Government Accountability
Government accountability is central to the Charter Review Board’s role and I’ll ensure that recommendations are made that improves transparency, responsiveness, and reflects the will of the people.
Reduce Wasteful Spending
I will seek opportunities to eliminate unnecessary spending so those resources are reallocated to support other priorities of the county. This will deliver greater value to residents and taxpayers alike.
REFINE INITIATIVE PROCESS
Improving the initiative and referendum process ensures that citizen-led proposals are transparent, fair, and efficient. I’ll seek to recommend specific provisions that’ll benefit organizers and signees.
